This adorable teddy bear is simple to make! It is stitched entirely by hand, using the whip stitch around the edges, French knots for the eyes and straight stitches for muzzle lines on face. The finished bear is 4” x 4”. The only materials you will need are felt, buttons, ribbon, cord, sewing thread/embroidery floss and polyester stuffing. The bear can be personalized with a tiny tag.
Wool felt was used for the ivory bear – felted wool was used for the tan bear – acrylic felt can also be used. Felted wool is wool fabric that has been washed and dried with heat - the heat shrinks and condenses the fibers so the wool fabric becomes thick and the threads in the fiber won’t unravel.
